Software Development Manager

Farragut is searching for an experienced software development manager with the potential to grow into an executive role. It is a strategic position reporting directly to division VP. We are looking for an aspiring leader who wants to make a significant long-term positive impact on the industry and the team. Farragut will invest in this leader's growth as per our culture and this role. This position is in the Workers Compensation Division of FARRAGUT. The primary responsibilities of this role are to coach and mentor a team of software developers and lead the team's efforts in delivering business-critical projects.

    2. Perform broader technical design and create code specifications.
    3. Ensure the code is scalable and meets performance and security requirements
    4. Trouble-shoot problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
    5. Propose and contribute to process and project improvements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Directs the work efforts and results of two teams of 6+ developers by practicing Agile software development to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications using technologies listed below
    • Develops team goals and manages them for results and provides input for weekly monitor and control meetings.
    • Develops team through coaching performance, completing employee performance and development reviews, goal setting, development planning, and recognition.
    • Creates environment of highly engaged employees and retention.
    • Manages routine employee situations and knows corporate policies and holds team accountable by modeling them.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 7-8 years of experience in developing and testing enterprise information systems
    • Experience leading software development teams
    • Experience across the technology stack:
      • Enterprise RDBMS (Oracle Database or SQL Server)
      • Microsoft .NET (C# preferred)
      • ASP.NET (MVC or Web Forms)
      • Web Technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, React, or Node.js
      • Reporting Solutions such as SQL Server Reporting Services or similar
      • Windows Server 2012 R2 & Windows Server 2016
    • Experience troubleshooting OS configuration & performance issues
    • Experience managing IIS application deployment and troubleshooting issues
    • Experience in an Agile environment with daily scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives, and DevOps toolsets such as Azure DevOps or Jira
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics with a GPA of 3.0 or above

    Compensation & Benefits:

    The salary for this position is determined based on candidate's previous work experience, current technical abilities and market salary information.
